On Saturday 18th April, I’ll be joining the celebrations for Craft Coop Windsor’s 5th birthday with a special community poppy making day, a gentle, shared creative experience open to everyone.
We’ll be gathering in two relaxed sessions:
- 11:00am – 1:00pm
- 2:00pm – 4:00pm
You’re welcome to drop in for either session (or both), stay for as long as you like, and take part at your own pace.
A simple act, a shared meaning
This project is about more than learning a technique. It’s about people coming together, sitting side by side, and creating something meaningful as part of a larger whole. Each poppy made will contribute to a collective community piece, one that reflects time, care, and many hands working together.
About the project: "Thousands of handmade poppies will come together in one united act of remembrance, bringing our town together through creativity, memory and connection. Led by Craft Coop CIC in partnership with local schools, community groups and veterans’ organisations, this is a project for everyone." - read more here.
Whether you crochet regularly or have never picked up a hook before, you’ll be guided step by step. The process is simple, repetitive, and surprisingly calming, perfect for beginners and experienced makers alike.
What to expect
- A warm, welcoming space
- Gentle guidance throughout the session
- All materials provided (feel free to bring your own donation if you like)
- No experience needed
- The freedom to join, pause, and return as you wish
There’s no pressure to get it perfect. Each poppy will be slightly different, and that’s exactly what makes the final piece so special.

Part of something bigger
Craft Coop in Windsor has been at the heart of the local creative community for five years now, supporting makers, encouraging creativity, and bringing people together. Being part of this celebration through a shared making project feels especially meaningful.
If you’ve been curious about crochet, looking for a mindful activity, or simply want to take part in something creative and communal, this is a lovely place to begin.
I hope you’ll join us, whether for a few stitches or a full afternoon.
No booking needed, just come along.
